Okay, I am finally going to try this. I am new to the dating scene. Actually, you might say I am being reacquainted to the dating scene after a 30 yr absence.
Just to let you know...off the bat, I have been seperated from my soon to be ex since April 2009. Yes, I am getting that divorce. Papers are in the works.
I am curious though...has the dating scene changed or am I just a prude?
I have had two "dates." The first date we had dinner and then he wanted to go straight to bed. The second date, the guy was already trying to be controlling and letting me know that he will convince me to do things that I didn't want to do......LONG story here. I barely know the first guy, and had only meet the second a couple weeks prior to our "date."
I am a firm believer that you date to get to know each other, with NO commitments/attachments. In my opinion, once you through --- and commitment into the mix, it messes everything up and rushes the relationship. Am I behind the times now??

`Now, a little about me: I have two children (adult). My son is in the Army, has done 3 tours to Iraq and will be moving to Germany Nov 2010 for 3 yrs. My daughter moved back home from a 5 yr stint in Mountain Home, Idaho. Her husband was in the Air Force. They have my only grand-child.
I have two cats, Little Bit 10 y/o and Mitten (a Hemingway) 5 y/o, both were born to stray cats.
I enjoy the great outdoors and am of the Water realm. I enjoy a good thunderstorm and have been known to "play" in a hurricane...up to a Cat 2. I respect water to the fullest.
I enjoy reading and have a good size library of books, old b/w movies, good music...I do not listen to alternative, pop, hip/hop, rap, raggae, heavy metal, techno.
